SVHOODS becomes Bright Homes Real Estate - 2021 is a New Year!

2020 could be called catastrophic, but in this year of change, we saw it as an opportunity to grow and improve.  One change during this time was Christina Hood and her team’s decision to change the name of the company to more closely align with our vision.  We believe everyone should live in bright homes.  And while the moniker SVHOODS was humorous for some we ultimately believe homes should be welcoming and inspiring, hence the name change.

How and where you live is crucial to one’s well-being.  With the multitude of options and being fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful urban areas anywhere, we are truly blessed.  This last year can only be described as dramatic.  The confusion has left many of us wondering what is next, clinging to the hope for a better 2021.  One bright spot has been and will continue to be real estate.

With the extraordinarily low-interest rates which are expected to continue to move forward at historic lows, we can only expect that our robust local market continues to thrive, but maybe not at the pace of 2020.  SFGate believes Bay Area prices will increase by 5.7% as more inventory hits the market, especially during the second half of the year.   Even as the median home prices in San Francisco dipped -2.1% during 2020, Zillow expects prices in to increase by 4.9% in the coming year.  Similar numbers are expected around the Bay.

Even with the news of HP, Oracle, and now Tesla moving to Texas, we expect our local economy to continue much like before, trotting versus galloping.  It was recently speculated that Apple may already have more square footage around Austin than here.  And, while there may be some relief for buyers with more choices as a result of corporate relocations, the competition for homes will continue.  The bottom line here is that we don’t believe corporate relocations will have much impact on our local markets.  The number of new companies vying for spots around the Bay has never been stronger.  And, the Bay Area will no doubt continue to be a worldwide education hub especially for those who are looking to escape the grip of tyranny.

The other big change this last year has been working remotely.  This we believe is one of the primary reasons demand has continued unabated.  Even during this Holiday season, when some business has slowed, buying and selling opportunities remain.   New home buyers are actively looking to make the Bay their home for the foreseeable future.

In addition to Christina Hood, the team includes Greg Hood, Christina’s husband, Lauren Liebert, our Operations Manager, and Sal Kumar, our Agent at Large.  As a group, we believe we are poised for a tremendous year fulfilling our customers’ dreams.  We have nothing but opportunity and look forward to serving you in the New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - PEACE AND PROSPERITY TO ALL!
